Raw Vegan Energy Balls
Energy balls, powerballs, protein bombs, raw bites - there are so many names for this snack that's got it all. You don't have to be vegan or live a raw food diet in order to love these yummy power snacks.
They’re healthy, full of nutrients and healthy fats, and will satisfy your cravings for sweets. The extra energy portion comes from the nuts, oatmeal, and coconut oil. The hemp seeds (or hemp protein) and sunflower seeds add protein. The dates have quite a lot of sugar, but it affects the blood sugar level very slowly. As a result, you are saturated even after having a small amount and won’t feel hungry for a long time.
There are so many more ingredients you could add, but with this beginners’ recipe everyone stays on the ball!
Ingredients:
1 cup almond flour
3/4 cup gluten free oats
6-7 pitted dates
2-4 Tbsp hemp seeds or hemp protein
1/2 cup sunflower seeds
2 Tbsp coconut oil
4 Tbsp almond milk
Instructions:
1. Add all ingredients in a blender or food processor and mix well.
2. The dough should feel firm. If it's too soft add a little more flour or protein.
3. Moisten your hands with water and roll into 1inch balls (30gr per ball).
4. Carefully place the balls in a container or baking sheet and put them in the fridge for about 1 hour.
5. Enjoy!
Raw energy balls are a great snack before your workout or to quickly recharge your batteries right after you're done with it!
