New Image Video for NEW YORK MODELS

Being a professional Model means that you also have to manage your own business. And the older I get and the longer I work in this industry the more I embrace that. It’s not enough to have the agent do the work for you, then wait by the phone for good (or bad) news. It's important to take initiative! These days with perfectly retouched photos on social media and make believe stories, it’s much more interesting for a client to see who you REALLY are!

This applies to any type of creative business by the way;)

Clients love to see video footage. When you think about it. Aren't you curious to see how a person moves, acts and talks when you just know them from seemingly perfect pictures? Not a month goes by where I don't have to put myself on tape for a client where I have to tell them a little about myself and show my personailty.

My agent Sandy at New York Models emailed me this summer to let me know about their big new website launch. They had decided to add a little "personality" video to their models profiles. I thought it was a great idea, but felt a little overwhelmed when they send me examples of girls that already got their vids done by a professional. Since I was in Berlin and didn’t know anybody who would specialize in those kind of videos I had to come up with something.

I called my friend Melanie, a photographer, to discuss the project. The idea was to show my personality, interests and own style. I found some great locations and created a little story board.

We were really lucky with the weather and shot most of the footage outdoors. I really enjoy video editing, so I knew exactly what I needed to shoot.

It took me a couple of days to edit, but in the end I was very happy with the result. And my agents in NYC were too.
